Why Your Voice on Insurance Matters

14 October 2024

At LEASE, we are dedicated to championing the rights of leaseholders and park homeowners, ensuring that their voices are heard in the corridors of power.

Our Mission

LEASE has a simple yet powerful mission: to advocate for leaseholders’ and park home owners’ interests and to work towards a fairer and more transparent leasehold and park home sector. Over the years, we’ve seen the challenges that both leaseholders and park home owners face, and we are committed to driving change.

Our New Role

In our expanded role, we want to use data better to understand the issues that matter to leaseholders and to support better policy making. This significant development marks a new chapter for our organisation, one where we can make an even greater impact.

Strengthening Alliances

In addition to our expanded role, we are excited to announce a new, closer relationship with EOCS End Our Cladding Scandal, Key collaborators, instrumental in the creation of the survey. By working together, we can more effectively address the issues surrounding the cladding crisis, such as the cost of buildings insurance, and ensure that leaseholders receive the support they need.

Key Issues: Insurance Costs and Availability

One of the issues raised with us most regularly is insurance. Leaseholders across the country have expressed concerns about the rising costs and availability of building insurance. This is a critical area that affects the financial well-being of many, and we are determined to address it head-on.

Understanding the Problem

To tackle the issue of insurance, we need to first understand it comprehensively. Why are insurance premiums rising? What factors are driving the lack of availability in certain areas? To answer these questions, LEASE will be running a series of surveys aimed at collecting detailed data from leaseholders. The first survey ran for 5 weeks and closed on the 27 September, receiving a remarkable 4,814 contributions.

Our Survey Initiative

Our surveys will delve into various aspects of insurance costs and availability, seeking to gather evidence that will highlight the scale of the problem. We believe that robust, data-driven insights are essential for crafting effective policies and advocating for meaningful change.

How You Can Help

We cannot do this alone. We need your support to ensure our surveys reach as many leaseholders as possible. If you are a leaseholder, participating in our surveys will provide us with the valuable information we need. Additionally, spreading the word about our initiative within your networks can help amplify our reach.

Our Commitment

As we embark on this new role, our commitment to leaseholders remains unwavering. We will continue to listen to your concerns, advocate on your behalf, and work tirelessly to influence policy in a way that benefits you. Your experiences and feedback are the bedrock of our efforts, and together, we can drive the change that is so desperately needed.
